I live in Saudi Arabia. Is it possible to shop on Ebay?
I have the shop & ship service so I do a lot of shopping online through Amazon and other websites. Currently, I am contemplating the Ebay experience. Do you know if its advisable to do so out side the US. Thank you.

I had a girlfriend who lived in Arabia for a while. She tells me customs officers, cover up inappropriate parts of fashion magazines with black markers, some items, they confiscate, and some they arrest you for it. Confiscate, would probably be a woman's rights journal, The arrest part would probably be gay porn. shop at your own risk.

A lot of websites and i think ebay is one of them dont even ship to places like saudi that dont have home addresses. You might want to make sure they are willing to ship to a PO box. I used to order things from clothing stores (like penneys and sears) until they stopped shipping here. Also, the previous poster was right about the customs searching your things for anything illegal or immoral. However I have a friend that orders things all the time and half of her stuff is alwaus missing. It's a known fact the people who search them take what they want for themselves then when you ask where your stuff is they blame it on the other side or someone who was before them, and you cant prove anything. Do it at your own risk. If Ebay will ship to saudi using fedex or dhl then although it will be pricey its the only thing that gurantees you'll get your stuff.

some people have set up po boxes in Bahrain and get it shipped there, then go pick it up from there.. but still you need to make sure its legal stuff, no christian religious stuff, no porn, no alcohol, no politcal stuff..

yes i can advise you to work with ebay. i have a friend who buys in and out of saudi many things on ebay and he even has good reputation between the "frequent users" or something like that. i believe you can use you shop and ship address via aramex or deal straight to saudi address po box. make a couple of buys / sales and you'll be fine.

Don't be fooleed about any quick rich scam!! I recomend you learn, and get good tools for start. So I don't recomend you those books of $97, $150... Because all of them is not for become rich, they are for becoming more rich than you are now. So if you are not rich now, forget them. All of them are based in huge opt in list (that in starts you don't have), huge amount of visitors to your website (that in starts you don't have)... I think it's impossible; I'm quite sure the death penalty is imposed on Atheist. What would you expect in a society/country where a woman who gets raped can be punished with jail up to a minimum of 2 years and lashes, go figure....!!!

J T, u should not talk about something unless u know wat u r talking about!!! first, I'm SAUDI and all the things that u said r wrong. we as Muslims r respect women coz or religious encourages us to do so. all the BS that u have been seeing in media r wrong. u will not ever know us and our culture unless u come and see it by urself. about wondering if a white man can live in saudi arabia well of course he/she can. no one is gonna do a dam thing to him/her. some ppl r too stupid to see the truth about Saudi Arabia. :)

Well i am white . Christian Living in saudi arabia and enjoying it so far . ( my family is with me ) you need to forget about liquor, Women,drugss, movies ( i.e cinema) and clubbing no one will bother you no matter what is your religion as long as you respect their religion and way of life. ( the 2 most bothering things for non muslim are usually women not driving, having to be dressed in ABAYA and that everything closes for prayer time ( 5 times a day) but again you need to respect that and you have no pb whith anything what so ever. regarding the women debate well in every society you have some good and respectful people and you have some bad un ethical people. yesterday unfortunately driving my car back home i witnessed a disturbing site of a car stopped on the side of the road the man is on the ground on the passenger side and really brutally hitting hie wife like an animal with somthg he had in hand and they had a child maybe 4 years old in the back seat watching . Now you cannot generalize and say this is life here coz i bet that in USA you can see that in many places and all around the world Any way good luck and it is a very nice country to live in you have ntgh to worry provided you are a respectful man

......living comfortably is relative. It depends on your meaning or standards for living comfortably. Lets say one says, he lives comfortably already for SR2,000 per month and the other thinks he lives poorly with that....it depends on the lifestyle of the person per se. Comfortable for him may not be comfortable to others and can't be based on amount or quantity of money spent.....one could say, his life is comfortable for SR5000 already and the others SR10,000 and the others SR20,000.....
