It's all relative. Some people wouldn't consider living where you do. *shrug* To each his/her own!
2 :
Watch too much Faux news?
3 :
I agree with you but people go there for Jobs not tours and usually busy.
4 :
We just go where we can actually find jobs. We have affirmative action where I come from, so we are grateful if some country is willing to take us in... Its easy for you to say but carry on... Maybe you will lose your job too one day and be forced to live somewhere you won't like to be.

You are funny. I really can picture the situation: you are sitting in the cold freezing to death and reading about the nice comfortable life in Saudi. You will live in a Metall house without any comfort, no car, no malls, no proper health care, no beach, no warm sunshine, no where to go. And additional to all this you even pay tax. Well have fun at the South Pole! I am quiet sure you have not been to either one of this places. Just stay where you are right now. Will satify you and the Saudi society. Take care and say "hi" to the penguins. Take care

DEAR, I THINK IF YOU WERE ABLE TO ASK ALL THE FOREIGNERS LIVING IN SAUDI ARABIA THE FOLLOWIONG QUESTION: WOULD YOU LEAVE SAUDI ARABIA TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY IF YOU HAVE THE SAME INCOME? I THINK 75% WOULD ANSWER THE FOLLOWING: I WILL REMAIN IN SAUDI ARABIA. I LIVED IN SAUDI ARABIA FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR YEARS AND I WISH TO RETURN BACK.
7 :
I have never been to Saudi Arabia but to be honest I have heard it is a very beautiful place. Try not to let recent problems there influence you. It only takes a few bad apples to spoil the bunch. If you have any questions, ask them on this site. The people who answer are informative and polite.

THERes proverb says "live in rome,&do what roman does" so live in saudi& do what saudian does u and shut the ----(blank) up"!!!

10 :

11 :
oh pleeeeease come and live here I dont know how we are gonna live without you you son of a beeatch BTW..did you find an animal to have sex with?if not try you sister the beeatch

Drinking alters your mind and body. American women can't stand living in Saudi as they are "oppressed" there and can't legally do anything. I'm moving to Saudi next summer with my husband(Native Saudi btw) and will a be a lot better off there among Muslims than in USA. My husband is even making me visit Saudi women here in USA to learn about the customs and culture.
13 :
and i would rather to stay at home all of my life than to see ur face out there! we don't want people like u - with low morals- to visit KSA!
14 :
i think your nick name is answering that people like U are not welcome here . PS : foreigners can find what ever they need but it seems that no one wanted to help u. and please for those who say that they don't like in KSA get the F**k out of here no one is making u to stay actully we are asking u get out if u don't like it here
15 :
how can people live in <insert name of country in which poster lives>? I would rather be on the south pole for a year than a week in a place like that!

the way u will prefer to live in the south pole?!!!

I estimate a month for both, but if the guy in charge of it at his company has experience (knows the right people), it could be max two weeks.
2 :
The iqama should be ready in a weeks time. He can apply for the family visa immediately and if all the documents are OK, he will get the visa at the same time i.e. no delays. Furthermore, you do not need to attest the documents again.

If i get xbox 360 slim in america will it work in saudi arabia (asia)

If i get xbox 360 slim in america will it work in saudi arabia (asia)?
I live in Saudi Arabia, but i am on vacation at the states. If i buy an xbox 360 slim here, will it work on the tv i have at my house in saudi arabia?

if you have the same wall connection on your xbox and its the same in arabia then yea it would work
2 :
I would venture to say yes that the xbox will work, however the games and DVD's you buy may not, if they are not for the same region as the xbox, the US xbox will be Region 1, don't know what region Saudi Arabia is but I doubt it's region 1. If you could change the region on the xbox itself you should be alright. Other than that, there should be a switch on the AV cables to switch between NTSC and PAL formats, if not then that's something else to look into. Tentatively yes it will work. Check the region and the TV format itself.
3 :
No you can't, you must buy voltage converter to play your Xbox 360 US version. Voltage converter is looks like this http://www.voltageconverters.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=VC500W US current voltage is 110 V 50 Hz Asia current voltage is 220 V 60Hz So now you have to buy step down converter, Voltage converter has two type , step down and step up. For you, you have to buy voltage converter step down, when you go to the electric shop, just say i want to buy Voltage Converter Step Down 220 V to 110V ( 500 W) version. OK, i hope this will help you

What is life like for a teenage girl in Saudi Arabia

What is life like for a teenage girl in Saudi Arabia?
I'm doing a project on the different lifestyles and freedoms of teenage girls around the world. I wanted some input from people who actually lived in Saudi Arabia and grew up there, so what is it like to be living there? And if you have lived in America as well what are the major differences?

Is it good to live in Saudi Arabia

Is it good to live in Saudi Arabia?
My husband is being transfered to Ethiopia & i & our daughter will be going with him. She is 6 & i will Home school. After a year or so he'll be transfered to another country in that area. This will go on until he can retire in 10 years. I told him if he gets assigned to Saudi Arabia he has to quit or i'm moving to my parents house. I refuse to have a white, female, American child in such an evil environment. I'm sure there are lovely people there but women are treated like dirt. They can't drive cars, go with head dress & i would never in a billion years have my baby in a public school there. So if it were to happen(with my luck it will) what is it like?

no

Don't ever go there. My uncle is an ex-patriate living in Dubai. They provide a good life but the rest of the middle east DOES NOT. Especially for white Americans. It is a terrible, terrible idea. Your child cannot thrive in such an oppressive environment. Neither can you for that matter. Your husband has to decide between his family and his job... You cannot live there. Please.
3 :
sounds like you have it summed up pretty good. There is many cases where and Arabian man marries a white women and then goes home. There is a movie staring Sally Fields "Not without my daughter" that tells what it will be like. The amount of money he may make and the power he will now experience over you will over whelm both of you. A dollar goes a lot further in those countries and men find they have all the control. Once there you cannot leave so don 't think we will go on vacation and then come home. Your daughter will be forced to learn muslim law, and if a truly rich man no matter what his age happens to be takes a liking to your daughter there is little you can do to prevent him from making her one of his wives. Money is power!
4 :
If you don't love your husband enough to follow him where he earns the money, sorry - you do not love your husband. Beside the moral aspect of you not following your husband - what's wrong with living in Saudi? If you think that in Saudi women get treated like dirt - your opinion. What that got to do with you? Yes you have to wear Hijab and you can't drive - so what? Where's the problem? Bottom line. You choosed a husband being on foreign employments (I did the same). Set your priorities. Your marriage or the "inconvenice" living in Saudi for just a certain time. I have a friend {Brit) who calls her time in Saudi "the best". After being in Ethopia you may feel like in haven being in Saudi. Give it a chance and think positive.
5 :
well... you think that : women are treated like dirt.. Seriously opinion differs.. but the truth shall remain the same no matter what you or anyone else thinks. I m an expatriate living in saudi arabia from 18 years and believe me what other people think of saudi arabia as treating women as dirt is NOT the case in reality. Yes, i agree that women are not allowed to drive, they have to wear hijab but that does not mean women are treated like DIRT !!! I m myself a woman who longs to drive a car but not getting my desire fulfilled does not make me say against this country though it's not mine.. I love staying here... my home country is free and has all what you think as freedom means.. yet i feel safer here. When it comes to schooling, i know so many americans and british friends of mine who actually feel saudi arabia offers them more than what US/UK offered them ... There are american and british schools here and they are known to give good education to children.. If you think that this environment is evil, then that is because you have just read what the newspaper or magazine speaks and seen what the media shows.. And obviously you will agree with me that media does not show the REAL image of the country.Rather, it justs builds up some biased image and displays as reality. It would be completely wrong if i say that US is such a bad country because each day i see 100s of stories about rapes and murders. So i m not gonna go there.. And i guess someone above me answered saying that once you come to saudi arabia, u can never go back n money is power n crap like that... Sister, i just wanna tell u that saudi rules are strict regarding going back and all that, but again if u want to leave saudi at anytime with ur child, you can leave it at the earliest. There will be no complication with u n ur child being forced to stay here. Whereas if it is ur husband, surely he will have to complete his job time and then leave this country.. Really, i think you should support him if ever he gets to come to saudi arabia. After all, he is not earning all that money solely for himself and certainly need ur support. It shall be a matter of few months probably and he is not forcing you to stay in saudi arabia for a life time.. Good luck from my side, but all i want to tell in the end is: Like we know the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence, similarly The grass is not always rotten and spoiled on the other side of the fence.
6 :
Stay home, we got enough American thugs.
7 :
well if you come to Saudi with a "hate" attitude, you wont like it.. But there are tens of thousands of western woman living here, some married to saudis, some came with their american husbands and they are happy to be here and frankly prefer raising their little white daughters here much more than raising them in USA where they would be subject to rape, drugs, and teenage sex... its not an "evil" environment.. its a family geared environment.. high moral code here.. generous culture.. some expats have loved it here so much, that they've raised their family here, and their children returned to work and are now raising their children.. I know many in this situation. I agree 150% plus what "H" has to say up there.. So what that you wear a scarf... dont american women wear scarves also? if they didnt, then why do I find scarves in Macy's, Dillards? Walmart, Saks 5th avenue? why? ... So you couldnt drive.. There are so many ways to get around here that ive never found it a problem... The woman here dont feel like they are treated like dirt.. We are not exploited for our bodies like the women of the west are.. We are respected for our knowledge and our mind.. Not if we have a perfect size 2 body, perky breasts, full lips, and fake died extention laden hair, And you dont have to put your child in public school.. there are hundreds of thousands of private schools, and even international schools where all the british, american and western children go...
8 :
If you really care about your daughter, no matter what country you decide to invade, make sure she is not home schooled by a bigot.
