best places to live in Saudi Arabia

best places to live in Saudi Arabia?
we've been to Jeddah, Taif, and Makkah. Inshallah we'll be going to Sharqiyah, Riyadh, Madinah, Khobar & Dhammam. Which of these cities is the best in terms of better roads & traffic, city cleanliness, and overall condition of the city. @ alhamdulillah "....I don't understand why people think it's ok to throw their trash on the ground and out their car windows." i agree. this is one of the reasons we are looking in other cities. people should take pride in their land, not trash it with all sorts of garbage and little blue bags everywhere... :-(

Riyadh has horrible traffic, but I love Riyadh because you can find everything there, and there are soooo many shopping malls. Khobar is definitely nicer than Dammam. They're sooo close together though. Khobar has 2 nice malls. The traffic isn't too bad. I don't know about the other places you listed. I've also been to Al Hasa, but I wouldn't want to live there. There's only one mall, and it's new. And, I just don't like the city at all. It's not that big, but it's crowded with cars. Also, you won't see very many foreigners there. I rarely see any, and the ones who are there probably work for Aramco. I don't think any cities here are really clean....I don't understand why people think it's ok to throw their trash on the ground and out their car windows. :(

all busted,,Try Khobar

KHobar, definately.. its like little America due to the Aramco influence of all the employees also you are 40 min away from Bahrain on the weekends.. And you need this little break every now an then to regain your sanity.. And eventually only 50 min by plane down to Dubai from Khobar..

Honey you put yourself in some deep shit by coming down here. But yeah Jeddah is the best it̢۪s the only city that has so much what people call freedom down here.

Riyadh is very dry and dusty which means that your floors have to be scrubbed daily and other furniture has to be dusted daily so in that regard its not a very clean city. Jeddah was like a big garbage dump because there was trash everywhere when I was there. I like Al Khobar but there are not many restaurants or places to go shopping not a lot of variety. The the most civilized drivers are in Al Khobar. Riyadh is probably the best for shopping because there are tons of malls and department stores and grocery stores here so you can find almost anything you are looking for. Jeddah is probably the most opened minded and least conservative. But whatever city you choose I hope you like your stay here inshallah :)

jeddah.. so many westerners like you, so you will kind of feel at home. it's big, it's the most open city in saudi. everythig is here here as well. job opportunities are more. and Makkah is only 45 min. away or so.
