if u wanna have some entertainment n less restrictions, go to jeddah if u r a muslim n religious, then the best places on earth for sure r Mekkah n Medina.
2 :
I would say Khobar or Jeddah Riyadh is ok if you know lots of ppl
3 :
Get a canoe and travel to each.

I think Riyadh is pretty exciting to live in. Good Malls, low crime. Friendly people, will depends. Buy you want to have fun, go to Jeddah, or Al Khobar/Damman. Even better, head to UAE or Bahrain.

All of saudi arabia is non crime, if you want to go somewhere fun, then go to Jedda or Riyadh. If you are a strong muslim, then you should go to Makkah or Medina.

as an foreigner i would say Dhahran it's next to Al-Khobar there's a lot of compounds where you can deal with it :D and if you are in Aramco co. you can live in Aramco's compound you can deal with this more :D Good luck :D
7 :
go to Abha in Asir province it's very beautiful and quiet
8 :
If you want easy access to alcohol, go to Al-Khobar so you can be close to the causeway, otherwise Jeddah is the best suited for you, especially if you can make some local friends.

Riyadh is the best city to live in. It is the capital city and it is wonderful.

Khobar.. simply cause its very western minded.. I would say Jeddah, but Jeddah is now to conjested, old, and very busy now.. Khobar is still small enough to find yourself.. and only 45 min away drive from Bahrain if you need a breather weekend (cinema, etc) and 50 min away from Dubai by plane.. 8 hours by drive

I say Jeddah because all the other cities in your options my friends went to live in it and they were bored so they came back to Jeddah. especially Riyadh it is very boring. and why i say Jeddah because it has good malls... and you can go to makkah with your car for 2 hours only. well i say Jeddah is the best city in Saudi arabia.

.....Jeddah or Al Khobar/ Ad Dammam because you have small freedom....

Khobar. Its near the sea, and a heartbeat away from Bahrain. It is westernised and the religious police, I HEard, are not allowed to enter Khobar. This might have something to do with Aramco - the saudis I am sure dont want to piss off the expats of Aramco.

I'd say Khobar/Dammam are the best, except during the summer the weather is horrible. It gets really humid and you can't even stand outside for a minute without getting wet and sweaty. People are nice, traffic is nice. After that, I'd say Riyadh. Traffic is better than Jeddah. Gets really dry in the summer, but it's better than really humid. Taif is a good city, but it might be a bit small. Great weather. Jeddah is kind of dirty in some places, unless you're going to stay in one side of the city, I wouldn't recommend it. They're planning to clean it up, install a complete sewage system, blah blah, but they've been saying that for 20 years now. Traffic is the worst.

Hi, you basically would have one of the three options: 1) the west: Jeddah 2) the center: Riyadh 3) the east: Dammam + Knobar about the crime rate, mostly there are no concern for crimes overall, and there are no cities known to have big crime rate, but usually there are some parts of the cities, like to most south of Riyadh, but still not that much. Riyadh is the capital and is in the center of the desert :) ... not too much fun to have here, unless you consider shopping as fun :) ... it has a lot of shopping malls... but it's a crowded city, normally it takes me about 30 to 50 minutes to get to work. Jeddah is crowded as well, and has less religious people... Dammam and Khobar are my recommendation, they have better followers for the roles, less Bedouins, more foreigns and compounds, and better streets, and you can go to Bahrain by car to have more fun! overall the eastern part of Saudi Arabia is better than the rest.
